Have you ever looked at a 30 second TV commercial and wondered: How did they do this?
Here is the thing, the average viewer is not aware of the process involved when creating a commercial or film. We want to explain this process to you.
First off, the client will contact us and share their idea with us. The next step for us is to visualize the client’s idea in order for us to make it a reality. You see this is where the tricky part comes in and also which most people do not think about or might forget about.
After the client shared their idea and they decided on which drone and camera they want to use we start this whole process.
The production office takes care of all the necessary arrangements such as locations, permits, permissions, crew members, cast members, flights, car hire, accommodation, food, logistical planning, etc. The crew will then go on a technical recce a few days before the shoot where they will make final decisions on the equipment used and also to get creative with the client and discuss the shots they are looking for. Next the drone/ camera crew will attend a gear check a day or two before the shoot to make sure that all the equipment that will be used for the shoot is in perfect working condition. Thereafter the magic begins when all the hard work of planning and preparation comes together. The shoot! Here all the crew and cast members will deliver their best performance to ensure that the client receive the shots they hoped for and sometimes they even get way more than they bargained for.
For the crew on the road every day, it is very tiring – to travel is very tiring but at least they have a passion for what they do.
Shooting a 30 seconds TV commercial can take up to 2 months of planning! Yes, it all starts when the client contacts us and the process ends as soon as we see a big satisfying smile on the client’s face. It takes days of planning to put together a production. From the idea, to the crew, the cast and the end result.
For FC Hamman Films, filming is all about delivering the perfect shot. We are very focused on the client’s needs and we strive on our client’s satisfaction. We always ensure that our crew are equipped with the latest and greatest equipment available. Planning is key! As a team, we meet up regularly to ensure all pilots and operators are on the same level to perform. This is extremely important because we must pair the best teams together and also sync those new members with our current crew members. FC Hamman who has got more than 40 years of experience in the film industry, is now taking the mentoring position in the company to train the crew. He is sharing his experience and knowledge with his young team members.
